Soul Cravings--great book!

Posted on Jul 1st, 2008 by Querida : My Redeemer Lives Querida
~Are you searching for something bigger than yourself but can't seem to find it?

~Do you know what your soul craves?

~No matter age, background, or lifestyle, almost all people desire intimacy, desire destiny, and long to know the meaning of their lives.

~God created us to connect with Him and with others, to hope in a future, and live meaningful lives. Connection and hope are the foundation of our being. When these are lost, our souls begin to deteriorate.

~Have you ever wondered what's going on? Are you seeking?

~I recommend the book Soul Cravings by Erwin Raphael McManus, which gives insight to such longings.

~"The search of your life is the search for your life.

What you are holding [the book] is an exploration of the human spirit: a journey into our deepest longings, our desires, our needs, our cravings, our souls."

~Intimacy
~Love
~Ambition
~Destiny
~Origin
~Meaning
~Life
~Death

Do you believe in God?

Posted on May 28th, 2008 by Querida : My Redeemer Lives Querida
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 28, 2007:

I do. I do because it is impossible to look at life and not see all the miraculous blessings He has given. I mean, even amidst trials and struggles, I see Him there waiting to help. All a person needs to do is turn to Him, He doesn't force Himself on anyone.

When was the last time you took time to play?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 28, 2008:

I'd love to say I make time every day, but I know it's only at least once a week. I workout every day, but I consider it good play when I get to shoot some hoops with my cousins, friends, or alone. I love it! One of my favorite things to do is run around squealing while playing tag with the little kids in my life. It makes me feel like I'm 6 years old again. :)

Little things can make a big difference

Posted on May 21st, 2008 by Querida : My Redeemer Lives Querida
I sit here at work unable to actually work because our system is down. I think how great it is that the office switched to recycled toilet paper (not made from previous toilet paper, lol), and air dryers instead of paper towels. Also, I'm glad that we're not using actual folders anymore but are instead keeping everything on computers (which has its ups and downs like today). These are just the start, but hopefully we'll become more environmentally friendly. I also started my family on recycling a few years ago, but when I went away to school they seemed to have forgotten it. I got them back on track, and we were able to get some other relatives to begin recycling. While I lived in Miami with my sister during March and April, I was able to get her and her family to start recycling as well. I know people all over the world are trying to take better care of our planet, and our fellow human beings. You know, you might think "I'm just one person, my actions won't make a difference." But your actions can touch many who in turn can reach even more. One can be come thousands, even millions, just through example and knowledge. A good example is the BEST sermon.
